Dates Volunteer is Needed:
Summer through Fall, 2014
Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History seeks a “handy” volunteer to help us with a series of restoration and fabrication projects in our outdoor exhibit space. The volunteer will serve as part of the Exhibit Team, and will play a critical role in the Museum’s Operation Preservation: The Campaign to Restore the Planes.
Primary Duties: As a member of the Exhibit Team, the volunteer will be engaged in a variety of short-term and long-term projects. Projects include, but are not limited to, restoration of missiles, rockets, and airplanes; installation and assembly of new exhibits; general care and maintenance of existing exhibits. Tasks may include assisting with metal work, assembly of objects, painting/stenciling, and more!
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
The Museum is the only National Museum in the State of New Mexico, and strives to be America’s resource for all things related to nuclear science & history. The Museum is one of the few places where visitors can get “up close” with iconic aircraft such as the B-29 and B-52!
