Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

For too many children, challenges OUTSIDE the classroom--like hunger, poverty or trauma--can stand in the way of success INSIDE the classroom. Communities in Schools of NM works inside schools to connect kids with caring adults and community resources designed to help them succeed. Please join our team of dedicated tutors who work throughout the school year. Bilingual tutors are desperately need, though that is certainly not a requirement.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

CISNM works with 6,000 students in 10 of Santa Fe Public Schools. We serve grades Pre-K through 12.

Minimum Age of Volunteers:

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

An orientation, shadowing an experienced tutor (if requested), and periodic volunteer training opportunities throughout the school year.

Additional Requirements: 

- Complete two applications: one for CISNM and one for SFPS.
- CISNM & SFPS also require a background check.
