Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Trinity Tour Facilitators are a dedicated group of volunteers that facility The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History biannual tour to The Trinity Site located at White Sands Missile Range. The museum tours are typically held the first Saturday in April and another TBD time (perhaps July).

The time commitment is approximately 30 hours per year. Here are how the hours are broken out:
5:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday April 4th (12 hours)
Additional 5::30 a.m. - 4 p.m. tour day TBD (12 hours)
Attend orientation and information sessions leading up to each tour day (1 hour each held throughout the year.)

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

Training will be provided and include:
• Shadowing current volunteers in is a MUST on the upcoming Saturday, April 4th
• Interpretive guide/self-study materials
• Orientation by the Administrative Coordinator and experienced docents who currently lead the tour.

Additional Requirements: 

• Working knowledge of or interest in learning about the Trinity Test Site
• Ability to be courteous, respectful, and patient with visitors
• Able to work a long shift (sometimes 12 hours long)
• Ability to walk safely on uneven terrain
• Ability to communication effectively with people of all backgrounds and ages
• Enjoyment of lifelong learning, and a desire to teach others
