Dates Volunteer is Needed:
For each week of Camp, May 27th, through August 8th
Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is seeking volunteers, ages 14 to 18, to assist with our Science is Everywhere Summer Camp. Junior Camp Counselors assist in presenting science programming at the Museum for campers ages 6-13. Camp topics are varied: Robots, Rockets, Super Hero Training Camp, Science of Art & Design, Fossil Finders, ... and include basic science such as chemistry, nanotechnology, biology and more!
The Museum's program is fun - and educational! Many of our Junior Camp Counselors return year after year because they enjoy the program so much. You may choose to volunteer for one week of camp - or a few weeks of camp.
To apply, please email Melissa Donahoo, Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected] to obtain an application.
All applicants will need to participate in a group interview and submit a parent permission form.
The Museum has 30 positions to fill at this time.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
The Museum has 10 weeks of Science Camp, with 60 campers per week. Teenage volunteer act as role models and are very instrumental to the success of the camp.
