Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is seeking high school students (ages 14+) to serve as volunteers this summer at our Science is Everywhere Summer Camp.

Time Commitment: Students should expect to volunteer for 40 hours during 1-week of camp. Students can apply and be selected for up to 4-weeks of camp. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm; OR 9 am to 5 pm.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

As a Junior Camp Counselor, student volunteers assist instructors with camp programming. This includes helping campers with camp activities, playing with campers during breaks, prepping and cleaning up materials, etc. Our summer camps offer high school students a fun environment… and an opportunity to acquire valuable leadership skills.

Application/Training: Interested student should contact Melissa Donahoo, Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] to obtain an application, parent agreement, and parent permission form. Students will be asked to participate in a group interview, and selected students will be required to attend a camp orientation before their volunteer shift(s).
