Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Family Shopper Volunteer
As a Family Shopper, volunteers will be assisting the Ronald McDonald House Operations Director by managing clothing donations, scheduling shopping and aiding families with their selections. Responsibilities include sort, bag and label clothing donations; keeping shopping room stocked, organized and neat; set up schedule for pre-planned shopping; help families make selections; hold families to time lines and number of items offered; when possible, help families take items to their guest rooms

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Since 1982, the New Mexico Ronald McDonald House has provided a safe, comfortable haven for more than 35,000 families whose children are hospitalized or receiving treatment for an illness or injury. Families using our services will be impacted.

Additional Requirements: 

Required to attend a one hour orientation prior to their first shadowing shift. Orientation consists of, but not limited to, House rules/regulations, dress code, confidentiality requirements and expectations. Volunteers will complete one shadow date of two hours with staff prior to their first shift. Volunteers will be required to attend any training/meeting pertaining to their position.
