Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

We are looking for volunteers who are reliable, good communicators, good listeners, calm under pressure, flexible, adaptable, willing to learn, hard workers, and have good stamina. Various roles such as timekeeper, starter, athlete check-in, souvenir sales, runners, etc. are available for a variety of sports for the Senior Summer Games. Nearly 26 different sports at approximately 15 different venues provides a nice variety to match your interests!

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

The Summer Games motivate 50-plus senior athletes to compete in the Games and to be involved in regular fitness. New Mexico is an affiliate member of the National Senior Games; every two years (2018) the State Summer Games qualifies athletes in 18 sports for the next National Senior Games scheduled to be held in Albuquerque in June 2019!

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

Volunteers will be provided sufficient training for the sport, role, and venue that they have chosen. Volunteers who can work a 4-hour shift minimum will receive a t-shirt, certificate, and invitation to attend a kick-off event.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers must be 16 years or older unless accompanied by an adult. Volunteers may sign up as individuals or as a group. Different forms are provided for individuals and groups. To sign up or see a game schedule, visit the website at www.nmseniorolympics.org or stop by any local Senior Center where you see a Game Poster. Deadline to sign up is June 17.
