Description:

I perform throughout New Mexico with the state Chautauqua program; venues have included White Sands, Ghost Ranch, Kit Carson Museum, Albuquerque Museum, Old Lincoln Days, and Taos, Santa Fe, Farmington, Las Vegas, Tucumcari, Ft. Sumner, Roswell, Ruidoso, Carlsbad, Artesia, Las Cruces, many more.

Usually I sing and tell of (a) my friendship and experiences with my best friend, Billy the Kid, or (b) The American West, Singing Its Story - a thousand years of history, with period songs, in one hour. For this volunteer service, I would expect to do Americana and folk songs, including some western. Audiences would be encouraged to sing along, and I'm usually quite successful at engendering this response.

I accompany myself with the autoharp, an indigenous American folk instrument; audiences are frequently very interested in this instrument. For photo and more info see: www.ralphestes.com
