Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
We are accepting applications for Volunteers to serve in our Ronald McDonald Family Room located inside Presbyterian Hospital. Volunteers work in the Family Room greeting families, stocking food, maintaining the computer and laundry room sign-in sheets and helping the families with anything they may need. The Family Room is open 7 days a week from 9-8pm if we have Volunteer Coverage. Volunteers cover 2 or 3 hour shifts. Shifts are as follows: 9-12 pm, 12-3 pm, 3-6 pm, 6-8 pm.
We are currently seeking Volunteers for the following shifts:
Thursdays 6-8 pm
Saturdays 9-12 pm
Saturdays 12-3 pm
Saturdays 3-6 pm
Saturdays 6-8 pm
Sundays 9-12 pm
Sundays 12-3 pm
The Family Room is currently closed due to restrictions during the COVID-19 breakout, but as we follow guidelines, we hope to have it open again sometime in May. Recruitment is ongoing as we would love for these to be filled when we get back.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
Families whose children are currently in the Neonatal ICU or in the Pediatrics Unit are eligible to visit the Family Room at Presbyterian. These are family members who are under high stress and who are often in need of a respite that is not at the bedside of their ill loved one. Volunteers offer a smile and a welcome to families in need!
