Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is seeking volunteers (individauls or a group) to assist with a unique short-term project: cleaning, painting, and restoring our granite-engraved periodic table. The periodic table is located in the Museum's lobby. It is the first thing our visitors see, and it never fails to impress!

For this project, volunteers will clean each tile of the table and repaint the lettering using high-pigment sign paint. The lettering may also be sealed after the painting is complete.

Additional Requirements: 

This project requires patience, a steady hand, and the ability to work on the floor. It will take an individual volunteer, or small group of volunteers, several weeks to complete the projects.

Volunteers must be available Monday through Fridays during Museum operating hours (9 am to 5 pm). After starting the project, you may also be able to complete some of the work on Sundays if desired.
