Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The Albuquerque Public School (APS) Community Clothing Bank/School Supply Barn needs your help to pack individual school supply kits to be distributed to students for the upcoming school year 2017-2018. We need to pack +/- 2,500 kits for students. Please bring your friends and help our students be ready to learn!

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Each year thousands of APS district and charter students do not have the necessary school supplies to start school ready to learn. Our program uses funding from various sources to purchase school supplies that are distributed to schools for use by our families in need, including our most vulnerable students.

APS provides the location and supplies that need to be packaged. Volunteers will want to bring snacks and water or other non-alcoholic drinks.

Additional Requirements: 

Bending, lifting, twisting and able to stand for an extended period of time and to be able to carry a bag with 10-15 lbs of supplies inside.
