Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

We are currently seeking an experienced and thorough Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our board. Board members will support the work of NMCAN and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by NMCAN’s Executive Director (ED), the Board-ED relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.

Since 1990, NMCAN has been leveraging community partnerships and volunteerism to improve children and youth’s experiences in foster care. Today, we have grown to authentically engage young people impacted by the foster care and/or juvenile justice systems to improve their transition to adulthood.

Additional Requirements: 

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about NMCAN’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected board members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, community youth development and/or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing board members.
