Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Treasurer of Human Milk Repository of New Mexico to start immediately.
Responsibilities include attending quarterly board meetings, reviewing cash disbursements and signing checks, reviewing financials, approving annual budget, overseeing annual financial statement audit, and presenting audited financial statements to board of directors.
Total monthly time commitment averages about 2-6 hours. While this is a start -up organization and a great opportunity to be in at the beginning, the team has been establishing the foundation for over two years and have the operational expertise for long-term success.

Families, mothers, and infants from across New Mexico who are medically at-risk. Donors wishing to help families in New Mexico. Families surviving infant loss. Medical providers for these families.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

Volunteer training and orientation, finance orientation, bylaws and policies. Refreshments at meetings, baby/child-friendly meeting environments, and potential transportation/travel support (funding dependent).

Additional Requirements: 

Experience with nonprofit finance principles and connecting money to mission, plus understanding of nonprofit budgeting and expenses, and ability to generate and explain financial statements. Nonprofit accounting experience a plus, especially with setting up QuickBooks. Please provide a statement of interest, resume and professional references.
