Help us build a sprung floor for dancers and families. Volunteers are needed in teams to carry plywood into studios and secure boards in place. No experience necessary - just a commitment to teamwork and a few muscles! *Carpentry experience welcomed. Sign up by calling (505) 224-9808.
This "Build a Sprung Floor" campaign is a long-time dream of the staff, teachers and dancers of Keshet. Please help us give this gift to the 1,000s of dancers (community, pre-professional and professional) that use Keshet Center for the Arts for their art, creativity, fitness...growth in life.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
Dancers spend long hours every day working in a dance studio. Dancing on a floor that is not sprung can excessively strain muscles, ligaments, and bones, leading to chronic pain and injuries like Achilles tendinitis and stress fractures. Wooden flooring offers a natural spring. When dancers press against the sprung floor or jump, the spring allows for the absorption of the motion’s impact.
