Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The Open Space Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit "friends" group supporting the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division, seeks applicants to serve on its Board of Directors. The mission of the Open Space Alliance is to promote public awareness and conservation of Open Space lands, and to educate the public about the natural, historic, cultural, educational, and recreational aspects of Open Space areas. The role of each Director is to serve a two year term by leading, advising and supporting the activities of the Open Space Alliance.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
The Albuquerque Open Space Division oversees 29,000 acres of property protected from development for the enjoyment of the public, and the Open Space Visitors Center where visitors experience both the natural world and world-class art in the indoor gallery. Thus, tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of local residents and visitors are impacted by Open Space Alliance efforts.
