Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The New Mexico Parkinson’s Disease Coalition (NMPDC) is a 501(c) (3), supports the Parkinson community through education, resources, support and advocacy. We are looking for a Board Treasurer and a Board Member who wishes to help people diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Each year between 4,000 and 6,000 New Mexican's are diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. The disease affects the person living with the disease, their family and friends. Join us to help provide this incredible community with the networking, support and resources needed.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

We support existing Parkinson’s support and networking groups. Our upcoming annual Education Conference which was attended by 300 people last year and is anticipated to attract 400 persons this year an opportunity to share information, solve shared problems, and connect to others with common experiences. Our goal this and next year is to increasing public awareness about resources available to this community, improve program offerings, provide an excellent educational event and develop a stable funding stream. Additional Requirements: 

The board term is two years (one year for Officers), and our monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month (September 7, 2016 is our next meeting and ideal start for new board members). We meet from 2:00 to 3:15 pm.

We are seeking persons who truly care about and wish to grow with our organization!
