Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The Junior League of Albuquerque (JLA) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
JLA is in its summer recruiting season and looking for women in the Albuquerque area to join its 2015-2016 Provisional Member class. JLA members provide hundreds of hours of community service to the Albuquerque community.
Each year, the JLA trains groups of Provisional Members to be effective volunteers and leaders in our community. Provisional members complete a comprehensive training series to learn about our League structure and programs, and experience our community programs first-hand. The Provisional series includes small group advisor meetings, trainings, workshifts with our community partners, and League functions such as general membership meetings.
