Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Rio Grande Community Farm (RGCF) is seeking Board Members who have an interest in our mission of improving the health of our community through sustainable agriculture, fresh food, and education. Experience in non-profit fundraising and volunteer coordination activities is desired. We have board members positions open, as well as the Vice-President position. RGCF provides a community garden, farmer training and the annual Maize Maze for the community at large.

• New farmers who enroll in Las Huertas Farmer Training Program are provided
• Skills development training and an on-site class plot to begin providing food for themselves and the community
• Community members who buy a plot at the Community Garden
• School age children who attend programming of the Maize Maze
• Wildlife sanctuary for urban wildlife by providing both habitat and food
