Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Volunteer as a homestay host for our 2018 Youth Ambassadors Program for Argentina & Chile from March 22 – April 2. Thirteen youth from South America (ages 15-18) and two adult mentors will gain the knowledge and leadership skills to become more engaged in their communities, and get to know the United States. Youth Ambassadors addresses three primary areas for the students: civic participation, appreciation of multi-ethnic diversity, and youth leadership.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Youth Ambassadors from Argentina & Chile, World Learning, University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, Experiment Argentina, Experiment Chile, Global One to One, and Global Ties ABQ. Also impacted are the communities, business and NGO leaders, and homestay families our youth ambassadors interact with internationally and locally.

Additional Requirements: 

Homestay hosts are required to provide the visiting participant a bed, breakfast, dinner, and transportation to the central meeting point (our office) each weekday. Each Sunday will be left as a free day for you to spend quality time with your guest.
