Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Many Mothers matches trained volunteers with families following the birth or adoption of a new baby. You will provide the physical, emotional and practical support new parents need to reduce the stress and anxiety often experienced during this wonderful time. Volunteers support parents in various ways. This can include snuggling the baby while mom takes a shower or rest, engaging with older siblings, helping with light housework, listening to the parent and providing emotional support, and so much more.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Welcoming a new baby into your family can be emotional. It is a transformative experience not meant to be dealt with alone. With care and compassion, our trained volunteers provide companionship, guidance, and support to mothers and infant caregivers during the vulnerable and precious time with their baby.

Many Mothers provides an in depth orientation and training to all volunteers. We also offer free, ongoing continuing education opportunities such as CPR/First Aid, Mental Health trainings, and breastfeeding trainings in addition to many others. Volunteers also gather regularly with staff for social and appreciation events.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers must be able to pass a national background check, and complete an interview.
