Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is currently seeking volunteers to form a Volunteer Guild. The Volunteer Guild will act primarily as a sales force and will assist the Museum Staff in planning all aspects of the 2014 Einstein Society Gala under the direction of the Director of Development. Emphasis will be placed on promoting the event, increasing the event’s attendance, and on organizing a successful silent auction.

The Einstein Society Gala is a prestigious black tie event and the Museum’s most important fundraiser. The event features dinner, entertainment, a silent auction, and the opportunity to honor an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the nuclear field.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Funds rasied support the Museum's science technology engineering and math (STEM) educational programs. Funds may be used to bring students grades 5-12 to the Museum to participate in programs (such as "Get a Half-Life") or events (such as National Nuclear Science Week or DiscoverSTEM week).

Additional Requirements: 

Time requirement is one meeting per month plus 2-4 hours of individual work that is can be done on the volunteer's schedule.
