Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The Public Lands Interpretive Association (PLIA) seeks volunteers to support efforts to enhance visitor experiences on public lands. Volunteers will assist with onsite tasks at the main office in Los Ranchos, as well as research tasks that can take place onsite or remotely. Volunteers will gain customer services skills by greeting walk-in customers at the office store and will sell recreation-themed publications, products and trail maps. Volunteers will also assist in updating recreation information on www.publiclands.org -- an education-based website and webstore that provides information on western public lands in the United States. To help get the word out about the resources available at the office store and on the website, volunteers will also help with social media marketing and other outreach methods.
