Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Meals on Wheels is recruiting drivers for our meal delivery program for homebound individuals. In addition to providing a hot, healthy meal, our drivers are a friendly face and a wellness check to the hungry and homebound of Albuquerque. Our driver routes are manageable sizes and located all around the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas.

Interested in learning more? Attend one of our volunteer training sessions! They are every Wednesday from 2 to 3 pm, at our Northside Office Site, located at the Northside Presbyterian Hospital at 5901 Harper Dr., 87109.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

The homebound and hungry individuals of Albuquerque. About 65% of our clients are above the age of 60, and for 85% of them, our volunteers are the only friendly face they see on a regular basis. Meals on Wheels also provides resources for the pets of our clients.

Additional Requirements: 

- Must have a current driver's license and valid auto insurance.
- Must be 18 or older to drive.
- We cannot fulfill court-mandated restitution requirements.
