Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Day Shelter
• Kitchen- Assist the Shelter staff in feeding over 300 clients a day.
• Clothing Room- Manage and help clients select some new clothing, shoes, and accessories.
• Shower Station- Help with shower sign up, distribution of towels and toiletries to those that need to shower. (Volunteers are not asked to manage the actual shower area - that is handled by Shelter Staff).
• Short-Term Storage- Organize and keep track of items checked into Short Term Storage. This is utilized by clients who are taking a shower, have job interviews, simply just don’t want to carry their belongings around the shelter that day.
• Long-Term Storage- Our clients utilize this service to store social security cards, family photos, medication and more—this opportunity is typically reserved for long-term volunteers.

Night and Weekend
St. Martin’s offers night and weekend opportunities through our Project Share and Gift Givers Anonymous programs. If interested please contact us.
