Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The Southwest Intermediate Learning Center is looking for volunteers to serve on their Governing Council. The school is a very high performing state-chartered charter school in Albuquerque. The Governing Council of a charter school provides oversight in three key areas – academics, financial and operational. The Council meets once a month and participates in occasional joint meetings with other councils throughout the year. Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
The Southwest Intermediate Learning Center has 112 students in grades 7 and 8. There are 5 teachers and 1 educational assistant. These students and their families, the teachers and the staff will be directly impacted by this volunteer position.
