Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:

Girls on the Run Rio Grande is actively seeking new Board Members. We are looking for individuals with a passion for, and commitment to, improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades throughout Bernalillo and Valencia counties. Girls on the Run is a safe and interactive program that provides education on important topics such as goal-‐setting, cooperation, healthy decision-making and self-respect. The innovative curriculum encourages girls to commit to a healthy lifestyle and harness the inner strength that they possess through training for and completing a 5K. Our mission is accomplished by giving girls tools to make positive choices for a healthy body and mind, while reducing the many risks they face today and having a positive impact on their communities.
