Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Bilingual volunteer will be helping clients choose fruits, vegetables, proteins, and bread items then weigh all food items as they check out. Volunteer will need to restock all food items as they deplete from the crates, unload food truck, set-up tables, then perform tear down (clean-up) once clinic hours are over.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Rio Grande Food Project is partnering with Roadrunner Food Bank and UNMH West to pilot a six month medical food healthy program for clients with elevated A1C levels who may be experiencing food insecurity.

18
Nonprofit Will Provide: 

Volunteers will have bottled water, opportunities to interact with clients, and relationship building with other volunteers and staff.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, wear closed toes shoes, know food safety, bilingual if possible, and have a willingness to get dirty.
