Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Develop content ideas and find/assign stories or topics to writers. Read, evaluate, edit pieces submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding potential changes or needed revisions in content, style or organization. Use practices to ensure diversity and inclusion when reviewing content or graphic layout. Verify facts and determine if a piece is ready for publication, then approve final versions. Work with our graphic designer to decide on layouts and review and approve final versions. Confer with NAMI Albuquerque Board of Directors to determine emphasis of specific areas of focus and identifying deadlines for quarterly publication.

As an editor for the NAMI Challenger, you have a strong passion for advocating for mental health and providing information to support those with mental health conditions, their families, and the overall community.
