Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The Arc of NM is taking applications for its Board of Directors. Director positions are available in all regions of NM with priority given to self-advocates. Board members serve as volunteers for the organization. Interested individuals must be willing and able to assist provide governance and oversight with the organization. Members are expected to attend regular quarterly meetings and participate in specific committee work as requested. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assuring the Arc of NM is financially viable, approving the annual budget, review and approval of a long-term strategic plan for the organization, and evaluating the Chief Executive Officer. Board members may be reimbursed for the following travel expenses: mileage and hotel fees. Travel expenses must be in relation to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors, including attending quarterly board meetings, board-sponsored social activities, activities sponsored by affiliated groups, and the annual Arc of New Mexico conference.
