Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:

The Community Academic Mentoring Program was designed to support struggling first and second grade readers. The volunteer typically commits 1 hour per week working one-on-one with 2 students for back to back 30 minute sessions. The program is divided into two parts. The student reads a leveled book to the mentor for the first part and the mentor reads to the student for the second part. This is a fun and effective way to make a difference in our community!
