Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The CIS Volunteer Tutoring Program is designed to give young people an opportunity to have a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult, while helping them to succeed in the classroom and achieve in life. Young people thrive when adults care about them on an individual level, giving them a sense that they belong to a caring community. There are also opportunities to help with other activities that support students in their families, such as bi-weekly food distribution.

CIS partner schools include: Aspen Community Magnet School, El Camino Real Academy, Cesar Chavez Community School, Nava Elementary, Salazar Elementary, Milagro Middle School, Ortiz Middle Schools and Capital High School. Both Aspen and ECRA include 7th-8th grades.
