Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

On Thanksgiving Day, join us at the Turkey Trek 5K Run/Walk to benefit NMCAN. Kick off the holidays right by volunteering at this family event that celebrates healthy living and makes a difference in the lives of our community's children and youth in foster care.

Date: Thursday, November 24, 2016
Volunteer Shift: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM (event start time is 9:00 AM)
Location: Albuquerque International Balloon Museum

We seek 50 volunteers to complete event duties such as timing, handing out water to participants, tasks out on the course, and more.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Funds raised at the Turkey Trek will support NMCAN’s initiatives to engage young people to improve their experience in foster care and their transition to adulthood. Approximately 100 young people participate in our direct services, and the more than 2,000 children and youth in foster care across New Mexico personally benefit from our ongoing advocacy efforts.
