Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

ReadWest is a non-profit agency providing FREE adult literacy services to west side Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area adults since 1989.
Being a board member for ReadWest Adult Literacy Program is fun and rewarding. ReadWest Board Members:
• Oversee the operation/policies of ReadWest.
• Help organize and participate in fundraising activities.
• Network with Albuquerque and Rio Rancho community and business leaders to promote the work of ReadWest.
• Help in grant seeking and writing.
• Meet once a month.
• Participate in a retreat once a year.
• Serve on a committee(s) as desired.

ReadWest's mission is to increase the literacy of adults through one-to-one tutoring. Through our dedicated volunteers, we have seen many lives changed for the better. As a member of our Board of Directors, YOU can ensure adults seeking to improve their lives through literacy have an opportunity to do so at ReadWest, Inc.

The Nomination Committee Chair will contact you by phone. He will schedule an initial meeting and provide you with information. This will be followed by an interview with current Board Members. An orientation is provided for each new Board Member. Member terms are 3 years.
