Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
Global Ties ABQ (GTABQ) is seeking a Board Treasurer to join this prestigious non-profit organization which hosts U.S. Department of State professional exchange programs. The Treasurer supports the organization’s Executive Director to include:
• Review and help enforce the organization's financial policies and procedures
• Oversee the bookkeeper’s monthly financial records (prepared in Quicken)
• Assist in creating and monitoring the organization's operating budget
• Prepare and present financial reports to the board (meetings held every other month)
• Help ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal financial laws and regulations
• Sign all necessary tax-related documents and forms as prepared by independent consultant
• Lead or participate in the board's finance committee
• Serve as a co-signer of checks where applicable
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
Every year GTABQ hosts over 200 foreign dignitaries and experts into ABQ under the US Depart of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Your role in supporting this organization helps promote Citizen Diplomacy, advancing peace, security and prosperity between nations.
