Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Guide the work of ensuring the homebound and special needs individuals get the best dental care. The Board will support the work of DCIYH & provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by DCIYH’s founder, the Board-founder relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. Specific Board Member responsibilities include:
- Leadership, governance and oversight
- Fundraising
DCIYH’s Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term. Board meetings will be held quarterly and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about DCIYH’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership.

DCIYH's mission is to provide superior dental care to special needs and home bound individuals in their own home or care facility. Dental care is vitally important for everyone, but homebound individuals have been neglected by the dental community. With approximately 20,000 homebound individuals in central NM, DCIYH provides preventive care, education & restorative treatment.
