Dates Volunteer is Needed:
Board meets 2nd Tuesday of the month
Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge (FVDO)supports and assists in the realization of the overall vision to restore native wildlife habitat and the establishment of the Valle de Oro National Urban Wildlife Refuge as a community resource. This includes promoting Refuge opportunities and amenities, developing and administering environmental and cultural education programs, providing volunteer support, and fundraising to support Refuge projects and facilities.
We are currently looking for a board member with fundraising experience to support the goals of our strategic plan.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
Because of its accessibility, ten minutes from downtown Albuquerque and an estimated 30 minute drive from 60% of the State’s population, the Refuge has huge potential for our children and education. It is already a field trip destination for schools, where students come to experience nature, connect classroom curriculum to experience and learn about the importance of conservation.
Is This an Ongoing Opportunity?:
