Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
The Board of Directors supports the work of PRO and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance. Specific Board Member responsibilities include strategic planning, selecting and evaluating the Executive Director, ensuring adequate financial resources and effective financial management, monitoring and strengthening programs and services, enhancing the organization’s public standing, recruiting and orienting new board members and assessing overall board performance.
Board terms/participation PRO’s Board Members serve a two-year term to be eligible for re-appointment. Board meetings are held quarterly in Albuquerque and may be joined by video conference for those outside of the metro area. Parents of children (up to age 26) eligible for special education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
We support families of children with disabilities throughout New Mexico in order to enhance positive outcomes.
