Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
Wilderwood is seeking an exceptional volunteer to serve as our Volunteer Coordinator. The position is volunteer (no salary); however, the successful applicant will be working with amazing participants, beautiful horses, delightful poodles, a curious cat, and dedicated, enthusiastic people. This position requires approximately 3-5 hours per week with occasional longer hours (such as involvement in fundraising activities or Volunteer Days). You will recruit, maintain roster, and coordinate training and schedules of volunteers; assist in coordinating volunteers for fundraising and community events; contact area businesses and groups for donation support; coordinate receipt of donations, especially in relation to the Annual Fundraising Auction; and coordinate and lead Volunteer Training sessions.

Wilderwood’s equine-assisted curriculum is designed for autistic teens and adults to strengthen self-perception and self-possibility; achieve career and employment goals; and embrace and celebrate the innate connection between horses and autistics. Wilderwood also rescues unwanted horses, provides them a lifetime loving home, and educates the community about horses and autism.
