Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Animal Protection of new Mexico (APNM) has established a digital archiving infrastructure (hardware and software) and is seeking an archivist to transfer hard copy files (historical data, press releases, VHS video, promotional materials, etc.) to digital form. Archivist would capture and catalog information and apply the appropriate keywords, tags and other search criteria using the DevonThink system.

The searchable database will chronicle the history of our organization. The project will save APNM space, and be available as a valuable resource for interns, staff and animal advocates when researching animal related issues in our community.

Additional Requirements: 

Applicants should be self motivated and have a good attention to detail. Applicants should be able to sit and enter data for prolonged periods of time and be able to lift 20 lbs. Excellent computer and library science skills are preferred.
