Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

AIGA New Mexico is the regional chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, and is led by an all-volunteer Board made up of passionate leaders. Our mission is to inspire and legitimize designers and their broader community. Our goal is to bridge the gap between people, whether that be designers and their collaborators, non-designers to the creative community of New Mexico, or New Mexicans to a larger AIGA network across the nation. We're looking for motivated, proactive, communicative, and bright people to join our team to help with operations, events, communications, and education.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

AIGA New Mexico serves designers and the broader ecosystem of creative entrepreneurs, their clients, and suppliers to help educate, advocate, and inspire. We serve a design community that reaches as far east as Lubbock, TX, as far west as the Navajo Nation in AZ, northwestern NM, Gallup, Farmington, and partner with AIGA El Paso to serve Las Cruces and El Paso.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

AIGA provides leadership training and opportunities to connect to a national network of design leaders. All volunteers can attend AIGA NM events for free.

Additional Requirements: 

Be an AIGA member at the Sustaining Member level (or higher). Represent AIGA in a positive light and serve as spokespeople for the organization. Attend monthly Board meetings (remote if needed).
