Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The New Mexico Parkinson's Coalition is New Mexico's only nonprofit exclusively dedicated to the support of persons with PD and their family and friends. We currently need help organizing advocacy activities for the remainder of 2017 and 2018, additionally we need volunteers to help prepare for our signature fundraising event which takes place at the Albuquerque Balloon Museum on June 9 and finally, need the help of someone with IT experience to help launch our fundraising database.

More than 9,000 people are living with Parkinson's disease in New Mexico, their care partners, other family, friends and the NM healthcare community.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

The disease is a challenging one for not only the person with PD but also to those closest to them. Care partners, in particular, also need both education, access to resources and support. As an organization primarily that exists because of very generous individuals willing to give of their time and expertise, the Coalition will be in a position to provide additional awareness of PD in New Mexico and support to the PD community with the help of additional volunteers.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers have the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of those who are part of the PD community. They are welcomed to join us at volunteer events, take part in any educational or other community event, and receive a complimentary registration to our annual conference that will take place on Oct. 21, 2017 at the Sandia Resort & Casino.
