New Mexico Appleseed works on hunger, homelessness, child abuse and poverty on the reservations. We work with stakeholders to craft and implement policies that provide practical and cost effective solutions to poverty. Our work includes writing the country's first Breakfast After the Bell law that feeds over 65,000 children each morning, creating the first Summer Food Fellowship that provides a summer job, college credit and the opportunity to end child hunger by serving summer food in low income areas, and the Keeping Families Together program that uses housing as a tool to end child neglect and abuse.
