Mission Statement:

Sawmill CLT is dedicated to developing vibrant, prosperous neighborhoods through the creation & stewardship of permanently affordable housing for low and moderate income families through the CLT model. We empower under served, disinvested communities through civic engagement, education, and advocacy

Primary Programs:

Permanently Affordable Housing Development: Our feature project is the Arbolera de Vida (ADV) community. Located on a 27 acre former brownfield site near downtown Albuquerque, the mixed income community will be home to almost 200 households. With 93 homeownership units, a 60 unit live/work rental facility, & a 46 unit senior rental community, ADV is a shining example of how the CLT model delivers on its promise of building affordable, quality housing, making homeownership sustainable, and providing for the responsible, stewardship of public funds & community assets.

Housing and Financial Counseling & Education: Our HUD-certified counseling program equips families and individuals with the knowledge & financial literacy necessary to address their housing needs, improve their financial situation, & better prepare for their future. Our services target low/moderate income households—those who are least served and who benefit most from resources.

Community Building & Leadership Development: As a membership organization, we empower residents to take the lead in their communities and help build leadership skills through education and mentorship.

Community Advocacy & Resource Referrals: We recognize that adequate housing is only one element of a community's needs. Because of our permanent relationship to the communities we serve, we are uniquely positioned to offer advocacy, counsel, and referral services to help residents and communities address other issues.
