The New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) is a educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting solar energy and related sustainable practices. NMSEA was one of the first organizations in the country, founded in 1972, to seek methods and ideas on how to use renewable energy, how small villages could live sustainably, and how to empower people through education about these issues. We are currently an all-volunteer organization.
Position Description:
To serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors by providing guidance and governance as to the direction of the New Mexico Solar Energy Association. Monitor financial performance, fundraise for the organization, and assist with strategic planning. Sustain, support and build the organization’s vision and mission.
Expectations:
Attend regularly scheduled board meetings held every other month on the second Saturday. Participate actively in one or more committees of the board. Attend scheduled board retreats, planning meetings, workshops, or other board development activities. Must have fundraising experience. Develop and monitor long-range planning and goals. Assist in the recruitment and development of committee leadership and new board members.
