Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The RGCDC is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial individual guide refugee & immigrant women through the creation of their own small business, using their existing arts & crafts skills. The position requires diverse skills, but there is funding to bring in specialized assistance.
Candidate must be experienced in all aspects of beginning a small business, including marketing, accounting, market analysis, and product development. Must be familiar or able to learn the arts & crafts industry.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

There are four areas of responsibility:
Social: Develop a relationship with participants.
Business: Help the women develop their business skills, manage subsidies, and track sales.
Product: Engage buyers to find products, monitor fashion trends, explore new categories of items. Help design high-quality saleable merchandise.
Marketing: Develop a network of buyers, create a collective brand identity to potential partners & funders. Manage internet sales and explore new sale outlets.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Success will be tied to collective gross sales and number of new businesses created. The goal will be to integrate 100 women in the program in 18 months and create a self-sustaining collective in 5 years.

The applicant needs to understand how to run a business, but understand the social worker mindset and the necessities of low-income, refugee, and immigrant population.
