Volunteer Coordinator (Valencia County Office)

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Support and supervision of Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who work with abused and neglected children in the foster care system. Training of new volunteers, and coverage of child welfare court hearings.
**Please note: this position is based in our Los Lunas office.**

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Frequent contact with Volunteer Advocates. Coordinate and facilitate volunteer meetings. Assist advocates with drafting court reports that include appropriate case recommendations. Attend court hearings and multidisciplinary meetings. Recruitment of new volunteers. Maintain strong, respectful working relationships with CYFD, Judges, Attorneys, and service providers. Report accurate statistical data to the Executive Director as needed.

Other Information/Requirements: 

BA/BS required (Masters preferred) in Social Services area--Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services or closely related field. 2 years experience in child welfare, child development, or volunteer management. Knowledge of trauma and trauma-related practices. Must pass extensive Criminal Background and CYFD records check. This is a 24 hour per week position, with potential for full-time..
