Volunteer Coordinator

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Directs and maintains a volunteer program for all programs within the RMHC-NM chapter, including overseeing individual volunteers for the Yale and Highlands Houses. The Volunteer Coordinator maintains the volunteer database, capturing hours and activities, actively promotes volunteer opportunities within the community, and leads volunteer training and orientation. Serve as the primary contact for one of the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Coordinate selection, placement and supervision of volunteers. Interview and orient volunteers. Attend volunteer fairs and other community recruitment events. Ensure assigned Family Room is staff and well-maintained, working the partner hospital to best serve families. Serve as a member of the Community Engagement Team.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum of two years of experience working with a nonprofit preferred. Training, interviewing and supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of volunteer management. Ability to connect with community resources. Strong communicator and public speaking ability. This non-exempt, hourly position pays $33,280-$41,600/year DOE.
