Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The position is responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of volunteers to staff the 24 hour crisis hotline and hospital advocacy program; coordinating the schedule with the volunteers and staff, and communicating regularly with volunteers via mailings, phone calls, and personal interaction to process cases, answer questions and give support. In addition, this position is responsible for providing crisis services to victims/survivors.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Oversee volunteers who staff 24-hour hotline and advocacy program. Responsible for volunteer retention by establishing a relationship with each volunteer, soliciting and following through on feedback, and processing difficult cases. Provide crisis intervention by answering crisis calls, providing in-person advocacy to survivors of sexual violence.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in related field plus a minimum of one year experience in volunteer recruitment and development. Experience in advocacy preferred. Requires excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, both with the team as well as with the community. Must participate in the RCC 40 Advocacy within 6 months of employment.
