Victim Advocate (FT and PT)

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the supervision of the Program Director of Crisis Services, the Victim Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. The Victim Advocate may also provide legal advocacy as needed. Other duties include maintaining accurate files and records of each service provided in accordance with agency standards. The Victim Advocate may be asked to be hours outside of their shift, as needed.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Bachelor degree (Social Sciences or related field)
• A minimum of one year social service experience
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work with other agencies and participate in outreach activities
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
• Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Other Information/Requirements: 

PT shift - Mon-Wed evening (15 hours)
PT shift - Sat/Sun 4pm-12am (16 hours)
FT shift - Mon - Fri 9am-5pm

Successful applicants must complete the RCCCNM 40-hour Volunteer Advocate Training.
