Victim Advocate

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Victim advocates are professionals trained to support survivors of sexual violence. Advocates offer information, emotional support, and help finding resources. Advocates are responsible for providing crisis intervention on the hotline and in-person.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Other duties include maintaining accurate files, data entry, data collection, outreach and records each service provided in accordance with agency standards. Must be flexible working hours outside of their shift as needed.
Successful applicants must complete the RCCCNM 40-hour Advocate Training.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree (Social Sciences or related field)
• A minimum of one year direct service experience
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work with other agencies and participate in outreach activities
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
• Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
• Access to own vehicle and telephone
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
